HYPE Urban Bikes provides people of all ages and backgrounds with affordable access to cycling, helping to improve physical and mental health while encouraging more active lifestyles. Whether it’s through free bike hire, Learn to Ride sessions, or Dr Bike maintenance workshops, HYPE removes barriers that often stop people from cycling—such as cost, lack of equipment, or confidence.

As a social enterprise, HYPE reinvests back into the community by offering volunteering opportunities, training, and support to young people and underrepresented groups. The project also promotes sustainability by reducing carbon emissions, recycling donated bikes, and encouraging people to swap short car journeys for cycling.
