Employability 2018

HYPE will be running an 8-week training programme for young people aged 16- 24 years who are not currently in education or employment commencing 9th January.

HYPE will provide real work experience in youth work, sports coaching, bike mechanics and gardening. Train for a career you will enjoy, and complete meaningful work within your local community. HYPE will be looking to offer paid employment to participants that really excel on this course!

Youth Clubs

Arts & crafts, cooking, gardening, sports, day-trips, music, games… the list is endless. Come join us at one of our community venues and see what we’re all about.

  • Courtney Road, Rock Ferry- HYPE’s twice-weekly youth club at Courtney Road Community Centre re-starts on January 15th 2018. Running Monday and Friday 5pm-7pm.
  • ‘The Little T Room’, Grange Road West Birkenhead- New youth club based in the heart of Birkenhead starting 16th January 2018. Get in touch now to express your interest! Running Tuesday and Thursday 5-7pm. Saturdays 10am- 12pm.
  • Park Primary- Watch this space…. for Wednesday evenings.

Biking

Join us and learn the mechanics behind your own bike. Work with HYPE’s Cycle Coordinator to transform your passion into potential. Cycle together and improve your physical fitness. Test out HYPE’s own bike pump track!

Sessions currently running:

  • ‘Dr Bike’ workshops- Courtney Road Youth Club Mondays/ Fridays
  • Soup & Cycle community bike shop- ‘The Little T Room’ Grange Road West, 12pm-2pm followed by a group ride from HYPE’s ‘Park Inner Park’ (Park Road East)
  • Cycle sessions @ January Park Launch event- January 27th-28th @ ‘Park Inner Park’

Monthly Park Events

Based at HYPE’s ‘Park Inner Park’ (Park Road East) we will be delivering monthly community events inspired by the Central Park Conservancy in New York. On the last weekend of each month HYPE will be offering:

  • Cycling workshops
  • Football Festivals
  • Community Gardening
  • ‘Build your own Birdbox’
  • Birkenhead bark- for all those with canine companions!
  • Free fitness bootcamps
